Pelvic floor rehabilitation for all genders
Rehabilitation of the pelvic floor is a multifaceted and multi-disciplinary approach to address bladder, bowel, sexual, and lymphatic function. Because of the location of the pelvic floor within the center of our bodies, and because the health of the pelvic floor is crucial for continence, reproduction, and pleasure, maintaining integrity of this structure is paramount to our overall sense of health and wellbeing.

Liz has extensive training in multiple modalities of bodywork, including joint mobilization, myofascial decompression using cups, visceral manipulation, Zen Shiatsu and sports massage. She has a background in yoga therapy, and has been a lifelong athlete, both of which influence her treatment style. As a licensed physical therapist she is required by law to take annual continuing education coursework which ensures her treatments are evidence based.

Education and workshops
Liz has been teaching workshops in various settings since beginning her career as a physical therapist. Class size has varied from 6 students in a small clinic to over 50 students in a festival setting. Her classes incorporate education on anatomy and biomechanics with practical applications via movement, partner work, and exercise to facilitate the learning process.
One of Liz’s favorite aspects of being a physical therapist is having the opportunity to facilitate the discovery of healthy movement in the body. Teaching in a workshop setting allows for this process to happen with a sense community—afterall, we humans are social creatures and there is a lot we can learn by studying movement and structure together.
In more recent years Liz has taught several workshops on the pelvic floor. What is compelling about this topic in particular is discussing a part of our body that has too often been stigmatized, ignored, or simply not talked about enough. The group setting shows folks they are not alone in their struggles, and that is such good medicine.
In addition to movement related classes, Liz has done a lot of work educating her colleagues on trauma informed care, and how to address intimate partner violence as a clinician. Please contact her if you’d like to set something up for your clinic on this topic.
If you would like to bring her to your gym, studio, festival, office, or clinic, please contact her at lizwilliamsinfo@gmail.com to discuss!
